Safety First

Playing outside today, Regan walked up to me with Lynlee's helment already on and handed me the knee guards, even though she can't ride a bike yet, she'll be ready, in about 4 years, when she'll be tall enough to reach the pedals.

Easter Festivities

Some pics of dying Easter eggs and the baskets the Easter bunny and Gramdma left the girls. They are so spoiled, Billy asked me when Easter became the second Christmas. But they loved every thing, and coloring eggs was fun, Regan broke three eggs before we wised up and distracted her with some crayons.
We had a lot of fun Easter Sunday, Billy and I had to speak in Sacrament meeting, which was a great blessing because it made us both really remember the reason we celebrate Easter. And how blessed we for the Savior, and his Resurrection. Billy did an amazing job, I was so proud of him. After church we went to dinner at our friends the Gleasons' a had an awesome feast. We were all stuffed. Sorry, I was totally nervous all day about my talk, and forgot to take pics of the girls in their adorable Easter dresses. But it was a great day.

Lost and Found

The other day we went to the Katy Eggvent for an Easter Egg hunt, the girls had fun but there was some major drama. The egg hunts were separated into age groups, and both the girls were in the 2-4 age group. I walked the girls in to the egg hunting area before they started and a volunteer told me no parents allowed! So I sat them down and told Lynlee to stay with Regan, then I ran around the other side of the fence where to were sitting. I was right next to them, when they started to collect eggs. I got some really cute pics, and then they both ran behind a big tree, I could still see Lynlee but not Regan, so I walked around to the other side of the fence, the only problem was I was by myself, Billy had to work and, there was a about a million other parents watching there kids too. When I got to the other side of the fence I still couldn't see Regan. I finally thought, screw this and pushed my way through the entrance. All the eggs were found about this time and kids were starting to leave. I walked over to Lynlee and asked her if she knew where Regan went, of course, she didn't. I found some friends there and told them I couldn't find Regan, and just them I realized there was two entrances and the same volunteers that told me no parents allowed inside, were just letting 2-4 year olds walk out without there parents. I was trying to stay calm, and Lynlee was not helping by crying and yelling that she would never see Regan again. So by this time I'm on the verge of tears running around the park, dragging Lynlee behind me. My friend Melissa ran up to me and said another friend of ours found Regan just wandering around the park and picked her up. After kissing and hugging her to death a poor volunteer got an ear full, of how unorganized they were and I couldn't believe there stupid no parents rule inside but that would just let tiny little girls leave without their parents. I was totally traumatized and wanted to leave but the girls wanted to stay to see the Easter bunny and the petting zoo. I know they had fun, but I'm not sure I'll be attempting something like that again on my own. Happy Easter

Easter Cookies

So my good friend Melissa gave me the most awesome sugar cookie recipe, I'm not a good baker at all!! I'm an okay cook, but when it comes to cookies, cakes and yummy stuff I have no talent. I've tried making a few sugar cookie recipes before and they usually just end up being heart-shaped bricks that no one wants to eat. Trying to be a fun mom I will buy the girls the pre-made cookie dough and make sugar cookies that way but to be honest those don't turn out the greatest either. But this recipe is amazing, they are so soft and taste great even without frosting. I made them for Lynlee's Valentine's Day party at preschool, and they were a big hit. Tonight we made some Easter shapes and had a fun time.

The girls only frosted a few cookies, and I pretty sure I won't be eating any of them, Regan kept licking the frosting knife and then touching every cookie, she also kept eating all the sprinkles. But anyway here's the recipe for any bakers out there:

Sugar Cookies

2 cups Sugar

1 cup Butter(room temp.)

4 Eggs

Cream these ingredients together, then add the next two

4 tsp. Vanilla

1 cup Sour Cream

Add to the creamy mixture the following

7 cups Flour

1 tsp. Baking Soda

2 Tbsp. Baking Powder

2 tsp. Salt

Refrigerate a few hours then roll to 1/4" or 1/8" and cut into shapes. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes. They bake really fast, my oven gets really hot so it only took 6 minutes to bake, so just keep an eye on them. They are great Thanks Melissa!

Sugar & Spice Bows

Introducing my next business venture, Sugar & Spice Bows. With much urging form my hubby, I've started making hand-made hair bows. Well I've been making them for my own kiddos for a while and now I'm selling. I've been selling them on e-bay and been doing really well. I have a link to my new blog here, so go check it out and tell all your friends. I have a ton of stuff in stock and ready to ship, the bows are adorable and very cheap compared to boutique prices. Check back often, as I'm always finding new ribbons and getting more creative. Don't see what your looking for, I can custom do pretty much anything, just let me know what you want.

A Sad Story

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful girl, who was enjoying a good night sleep, when all of a sudden she heard the call of nature. She looked up at the clock and realized it was the middle of the night, 4 AM. She was making her way through the dark to the bathroom, when all of a sudden her foot hit something. Her husbands faithful pooch was laying directly in her path. Tripping and falling to the ground, all of a sudden her face meets the wall and there is a horrible pain. Laying on the ground crying, she hear words of concern from her Prince Charming laying in bed, "What the heck is going on!" He turns on some lights, helps her to her feet, trying figure out what she is doing and why she is crying. The beautiful girl finally makes it to the toilet, and Prince Charming goes back to sleep. After surveying the damage, and popping some Advil, hoping she doesn't have a concussion, the beautiful girls falls back asleep. The next morning, in a cruel Disney movie like twist, the beautiful girl wakes up looking like Quasimodo with a swollen, black and blue eyelid.

These pictures really don't do it justice and I'm sure it will get worse before it gets better!!
