Lost and Found

The other day we went to the Katy Eggvent for an Easter Egg hunt, the girls had fun but there was some major drama. The egg hunts were separated into age groups, and both the girls were in the 2-4 age group. I walked the girls in to the egg hunting area before they started and a volunteer told me no parents allowed! So I sat them down and told Lynlee to stay with Regan, then I ran around the other side of the fence where to were sitting. I was right next to them, when they started to collect eggs. I got some really cute pics, and then they both ran behind a big tree, I could still see Lynlee but not Regan, so I walked around to the other side of the fence, the only problem was I was by myself, Billy had to work and, there was a about a million other parents watching there kids too. When I got to the other side of the fence I still couldn't see Regan. I finally thought, screw this and pushed my way through the entrance. All the eggs were found about this time and kids were starting to leave. I walked over to Lynlee and asked her if she knew where Regan went, of course, she didn't. I found some friends there and told them I couldn't find Regan, and just them I realized there was two entrances and the same volunteers that told me no parents allowed inside, were just letting 2-4 year olds walk out without there parents. I was trying to stay calm, and Lynlee was not helping by crying and yelling that she would never see Regan again. So by this time I'm on the verge of tears running around the park, dragging Lynlee behind me. My friend Melissa ran up to me and said another friend of ours found Regan just wandering around the park and picked her up. After kissing and hugging her to death a poor volunteer got an ear full, of how unorganized they were and I couldn't believe there stupid no parents rule inside but that would just let tiny little girls leave without their parents. I was totally traumatized and wanted to leave but the girls wanted to stay to see the Easter bunny and the petting zoo. I know they had fun, but I'm not sure I'll be attempting something like that again on my own. Happy Easter

Nothing is scarier than losing your child, even for a minute or so. I don't blame you for being traumatized.
